His
face filled with apprehension and joy, this is the astonishing moment Jeff
Bauman walked for the first time since losing both of his legs in the Boston
Marathon bombings. The 27-year-old revealed his amazing determination as he
took his first steps just weeks after the incident changed his life and set him
on a painful and long road to recovery. A photograph (left) showing Bauman -
gray-faced with his legs shredded by the blast as he was rushed to the medical
tent - became an iconic image of the horror of the bombings on April 15. He has
now shared his physical and emotional struggles as he learns to walk again.
