Brutality In The Air via American Airlines

A Nigerian man claims a flight crew bound and punched him and taped his mouth shut for hours onboard a Chicago-bound flight he was taking to reunite with his family.

David Ukesone, 71, was eight hours away from landing at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, his attorney said when a dispute with flight attendants turned hostile.

"He apparently sits in the wrong seat and was told to change seats by a flight attendant," attorney Howard Schaffner told ABC News. "He didn't think he was in the wrong seat and there was an argument and, at some point, he was hit."

Emirates Airlines released a statement Monday morning confirming an incident did occur.

"Emirates can confirm that a passenger on flight EK235 from Dubai to Chicago on 23 January had to be restrained by cabin crew due to unruly behaviour during the flight. The passenger was handed over to the authorities on arrival in Chicago. The safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the other passengers on the flight for their understanding, in particular, the individuals who had assisted our crew during the flight."

U.S. Lifts Ban On Refugees From 11 'High-Risk' Countries

The Department of Homeland Security is resuming normal processing of refugees from 11 countries that had previously only been admitted on a “case-by-case” basis.

But DHS officials say they are working to implement new screening measures for applicants from those high-risk countries following a 90-day review.

Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said during a speech at the Woodrow Wilson Center Monday that the changes were aimed at better protecting the country against terrorism, crime and fraud.

Obasanjo Attacks Buhari, Asks President Not To Run In 2019

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday, in a blistering and excoriating 13-page statement, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.

Mr. Obasanjo, in a special press statement entitled, “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement” said Mr Buhari has performed far below expectation and should honourably “dismount from the horse” to join the league of the country’s former leaders whose “experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country.”

Mr Obasanjo, a two-term president on the platform of People Democratic Party (PDP), said he felt disappointed by Mr Buhari, whom he supported during the 2015 election over then incumbent and candidate of his former party, Goodluck Jonathan.

Mr Obasanjo had written a condemnatory open letter in December 2013 titled “Before it is Too Late” where he highlighted the numerous failings of the Jonathan administration.

Mr Obasanjo argued that his decision to go against Mr Jonathan at the time was the right one, as events in the last three years have since proved, was for the good of the nation and nothing personal.

“Even the horse rider then, with whom I maintain very cordial, happy and social relationship today has come to realise his mistakes and regretted it publicly and I admire his courage and forthrightness in this regard,” Mr. Obasanjo said.

“He has a role to play on the sideline for the good of Nigeria, Africa and humanity and I will see him as a partner in playing such a role nationally and internationally, but not as a horse rider in Nigeria again.”

He's Only Quitting Arsenal To join Manchester United For Money- Wenger On Sanchez

Arsene Wenger has insisted Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United is all about money.

The Gunners boss Wenger claimed 29-year-old Sanchez went to Old Trafford for one last pay day at the end of his career and the fact even Manchester City could not afford him proves it.

Sanchez left Arsenal for a mega £400,000-a-week contract, £15m signing-on fee and his four-and-a-half year deal will make him the best paid player in the Premier League.

Wenger said: “I cannot understand anybody wanting to leave Arsenal. But in 30 years of doing transfers you learn a lot about human beings.

“As a professional, it was perhaps his last contract at the top level and an important contract. After that, I accept that because we accepted that we would let him go. After that, we analyse the pros and the cons.

'Nobody Will Ever Have To Say Me Too again': Oprah

'Nobody will ever have to say Me Too again': Oprah reduces Golden Globes stars to tears with 'presidential' speech praising the women AND men leading Tinseltown's fightback from sex abuse scandals

Oprah Winfrey used her Golden Globe lifetime achievement speech to issue a rallying cry as she begged both men and women to do what they could to ensure no one ever has to utter the words 'Me Too' again.

The actress and businesswoman received a lengthy standing ovation as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Sunday's Globes ceremony, before saying how honoured she was to be the first black woman to receive the accolade. The 63-year-old spoke about the feelings she had as a young girl watching Sidney Poitier win the best actor Academy Award in 1964. 'It is not lost on me that, at this moment, there are some little girls watching as I become the first black woman to be given the same award,' Oprah said.
