2 Men (Wharf Rats) Arrested For Stealing N19.5m Worth Of Goods From Lagos Sea Port

Report revealed that two suspects who specialised in diverting and receiving stolen goods from Apapa Sea Port, have been arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Zone 2.

The suspects, who were identified as Benson Odefila and Amaechi Enemmuou, were apprehended recently after they stole musical equipment loaded in a 40-foot container, valued at N19.5 million.

News gathered that a truck driver contracted by the owner of the container to transport it to his warehouse, after it was cleared at the sea port, diverted and sold it to the suspects for N600,000.

Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of Works, Power and Housing, may have ended up being a post master, but for his passion for litigation as a young lawyer.

After graduating from University of Benin (UNIBEN) and he was unemployed, his father presented him with the opportunity to work with the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST). This was at a time working with NIPOST was a dream job. While he realized it was a fantastic opportunity, he was extremely passionate about litigation and thus turned down the offer, and opted to pursue a career as a lawyer.

“I had a different passion and that was being in the courtroom; I therefore had to go for my dream to find a job that would help my career.   It took me a while before I could get a job and that meant I was jobless for several months after NYSC”, he said at a group mentoring programme for entrepreneurs organised by Young Business Leaders of Nigeria (YBLN) in Lagos.

He, however, noted the failing education system in country and thus lauded the YBLN’s initiative in training young entrepreneurs for positive change in the country.

A female sergeant, Obotie Adesuwa, is currently in the cell of the X-Squad Section of the Lagos State Police Command, after she allegedly sold a week-old baby boy who had been brought with his mother to a police station.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Adesuwa, who hails from Edo State, is attached to the Akinpelu Police Division, where the baby boy and her mother, Toyin, who is said to be mentally unstable, had also been brought to by a Good Samaritan.

It was gathered that the Good Samaritan, who was taking care of the baby’s mother, had brought Toyin and her child to the station after Toyin was delivered of the baby in a psychiatric hospital.

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has reacted to the recent comments made by former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, over the alleged disappearance of $20 billion under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Diezani, in a recent interview, insinuated that the Emir of Kano may have made the allegation against her, over the presidency’s frustration of his attempt to head the African Development Bank.

A California woman has been found guilty of murdering her two-month-old daughter, who was killed after she was placed in a microwave for as long as five minutes.

Ka Yang, 34, has been convicted of first-degree murder and assault on a child in the death of her daughter Mirabelle Thao-Lo in their Sacramento home on March 17, 2011.

Jurors rejected Yang's argument that she had been in the middle of an epileptic seizure when she placed her daughter in the microwave.

Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, has said she did not use her position to steal Nigeria’s money.

Earlier this week, Amanda Blackburn was murdered in her Indianapolis home, and police believe her death is the result of a home invasion. Davey Blackburn, a pastor at Resonate Church, says he discovered his dying pregnant 28-year-old wife after returning from the gym Tuesday morning. She arrived at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, where she later died. The Blackburns' 1-year-old child was in the home at the time of the burglary.

"I have not only lost my ministry partner and support but also my very best friend. There is no way to prepare yourself for circumstances like these." Davey Blackburn said, according to Las-Vegas Review Journal.

Paris Attacks Were an ‘Act of War’ by ISIS, Hollande Says

PARIS — President François Hollande on Saturday blamed the Islamic State for the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday, as the death toll rose to 127 victims, with 300 others hospitalized, 80 of them in critical condition. He declared three days of national mourning, and said that military troops would patrol the capital. France remained under a nationwide state of emergency.

‘Jihadi John’ Was Probably Killed in Airstrike - PENTAGON

The Pentagon said on Friday that it was “reasonably certain” that an American airstrike killed Mohammed Emwazi, the Islamic State’s most notorious executioner.

Col.
