OTEDOLA PLACED N250Bn SUIT AGAINST TAMBUWAL, LAWAN & OTHER
The Otedola-Farouk $620,000 bribe scandal took a
new twist on Thursday with the mention in court of a N250bn libel suit
instituted by Femi Otedola against the National Assembly; Speaker of the House
of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; and the lawmaker, Farouk Lawan. In the
case, Otedola is asking Justice Peter Kekemeke of an Abuja High Court to order
the respondents to pay him the sum for the loss of goodwill and patronage he
suffered as a result of their actions in the course of a probe into the
management of fuel subsidy regime in the country. Otedola and his company,
Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, told the court that they had suffered grave
injuries to their reputation and business image, resulting in the substantial
loss of goodwill, built over the years, because of the actions of the
defendants. They said they would rely on all call logs and audio-visual records
of conversations and meetings with Lawan to prove the case. There had been an
intense public altercation between Otedola and Lawan few months back with the
businessman accusing Lawan of demanding and collecting the sum of US$620,000 as
part payment of a $3m bribe deal from him. He said Lawan blackmailed in order
not to mention the name of his company among those that defrauded the country
during the fuel subsidy regime.

HILLARY 2016
Funny
but the above caption Hillary 2016 has been the hype on most websites, blogs
and social sites as the world is clamoring and preparing to see her becoming
the next America
President.
Hillary,
has served her nation in many roles and responsibilties over the years and she
has done this altruistically. I think this is the reason the new Americans are
looking forward to the first ever female President in person of Hillary
Clinton.

The Empire
State building is tonight
bathed in blue light as Barack Obama won a second term in office.
Two columns of light, one red and one blue, had
been winding their way up the skyscraper in a display put on by CNN.
Each column represented the number of electoral college
votes secured by Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
But at 11.20 the building was lit completely blue
as the channel predicted that the President would serve another four years in
office.
Dominating the Midtown skyline of Manhattan , the Empire

lighting's and this latest addition is the brainchild of CNN.
The tower changes lights to recognise key
milestones such as Christmas Day and Halloween, charitable organisations such

AJIMOBI’S WIFE RETURNS, DENIES ALLEGED ARREST
The wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Florence
Ajimobi, yesterday arrived in Lagos
and debunked reports that she was arrested by the London Metropolitan Police
for money laundering offence. She attributed the allegation of money laundering
to the handiwork of mischief makers who she said were playing dirty politics to
tarnish her reputation, which she has kept as the wife of a politician in her
marriage of over 30 years. On arrival from London
yesterday morning at the Murtala Muhammed International
Airport , Ikeja, Lagos
aboard a Virgin Atlantic Airways aircraft, which landed at 6.50 a.m., she
described as laughable the rumour of her arrest, affirming that she only
travelled last Sunday to London
to accompany her child back to school. Ajimobi said she was not surprised over
the capacity of people to peddle rumour, as part of the dirty politics of Oyo,
saying that the true test of any human being is the ability to stand firm in
times of crisis and controversy. According to her, “I am here live as you can
see, I have never had any encounter with the London Metropolitan Police, and I
know I will never have. It is just rumour like you said, and I think the time
has come for us in Nigeria
to stop playing dirty politics”:
WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS EARN SIX TIMES MORE THAN BLACKS
White South Africans earn six times
more than black South Africans nearly two decades after the end of apartheid
and much remains to be done to reduce the disparities between rich and poor,
the president said after the release of the country’s census, the Associated
Press reports. “These figures tell us at the bottom of the rung is the black
majority who continue to be confronted by deep poverty, unemployment, and
inequality, despite the progress that we have made since 1994,” President Jacob
Zuma said of the South Africa Census 2011 released on Tuesday. On the positive
side, people’s access to basic services, such as clean water, electricity and
garbage removal has more than doubled in the same amount of time, he said. And
more South African dwellings have TVs than refrigerators and more cell phones
than electric or gas stoves, the census said. South Africa ’s population has
increased by 7 million people in the last decade to 51.8 million by October
2011, according to the census. And for the first time in the three censuses
conducted since 1994, the number of people identifying themselves as colored —
a term used by the government for people of mixed race — is higher, at 4.62
million, than those who describe themselves as white at 4.59 million. More than
41 million describe themselves as black and 1.3 million as Indian or Asian
