New York State Senate Pays Tribute To Achebe

In recognition of his literary works, the Senate of New York State in the United States,  passed a resolution paying tribute to acclaimed author, Professor Chinua Achebe. Achebe died on March 21 in Boston, Massachusetts where he was a professor at Brown University.
In the resolution, the Senate said Achebe’s global significance lies not only in his talent and recognition as a writer, but also as a critical thinker and essayist who wrote extensively on questions of the role of culture in Africa along with the social and political significance of aesthetics and analysis of the post-colonial state in Africa.
