WHAT IS SO OLIVER ABOUT D’BANJI OLIVER TWIST VIDEO?

I need to run away from D'Banj, he has spoilt my reputation as Oliver Twist
I could simply regard this D'Banj's Oliver Twist video as loosing touch with reality. I have been so silent and never had the intention to critically evaluate the rift between D’Banj and Don Jazzy because I am of the school of thought with the opinion that the relationship between an artist and a producer is relatively permanent. This is also applicable to employment in private and government firms as there will come a day when this relationship will halt and the parties involved will go their separate ways (Take Kennis Music and 2Face as a case study). Occasionally, the relationship might also be rekindled when there is an opportunity to make stupendous gain and cash off the aficionados (Kennis and Idris Abudulkareem).

Friends, readers and colleagues were of the opinion that I must write something regarding the disengagement of the business relationship between Don jazzy and D’Banj and who might likely benefit more from this. Sorry, people I will still hold my peace regarding that but not on the newly released and most awaited video of Oliver Twist.

Whaooo! I can’t believe this is the D’Banj’s Oliver Twist video. Maybe this particular video is only meant for D’banj and his new Good Music group and not Africa fans that have made him who he is today.

Analytically, there is nothing Oliver Twist about this video as there is no connection between the lyrics and video.
(1)   What is D’Banj trying to communicate to the world with this video?
(2)   What is the connection of the Holy Mary representation in this video with the lyrics of the music?
(3)    Which part of this video can be related to the African audience?
(4)   Is it really true that Sesan directed this video or his name was just attached to the video as a director?
(5)   Is D’banj trying to say goodbye to his motherland audience?
(6)   How come there is no member of Mo’Hit group in the video?
(7)   Where are all the ladies mentioned in this video?
(8)   Where is the electrifying sense of entertainment of D’Banj in this particular video?

So many questions are to be considered with respect to this video. This video is totally out of touch with the African audience; especially the Nigeria fans that dedicated their time and sweat to make different unofficial videos for this song. None of the people that made the Oliver Twist video on Youtube was ever rewarded by MoHit for their efforts instead D’Banj is paying them back with a video that looks so unreal and without Afro-origin.

This particular video will kill this song and the song will be “Gone with the wind’ in twinkling of an eye. D’Banj needs to be careful about his new business relationship with GOOD Music and forget not his source. We wish him the best in his new journey.

    1. Being illuminati or not...I am not too sure about that, but what I'm after is for him not to loose touch with his African audience.

  2. your comment on this topic has some sense and a bit one sided and a bit sentimental too. Dbanj from the word go have louded it and sounded it clear enough that he is out to break into american market and to do that he will need music that is not too story dramatic but with youth energy and som close to naked gals. from cristina aguilere to kanye, from beyonce to rihanna always have videos wit really no meaning to their songs. dont let us get emotional abt d break as dbanj and dn jazzy wil com one day(maybe next 2 yrs)to do colabo just like tuface n face breakup and beyonce and destiny child etc. enjoy life and enjoy d songs as it comes

    2. Sentiment or no sentiment, he putting the statue of mary in his video doesnt make sense, I have tried so hard to reason with him but cant think of any good reason,What point was he trying to make? Or has holy mary now become a celebrity he needs to put in his video to attract more fans? The fact is simple I see the hand of Jayz and Kanye on this one.
