Manchester United 3-1 Bournemouth

Centurion: Rooney netted his 100th Premier League gaol at Old Trafford

The Red Devils skipper netted his 100th Premier League goal at Old Trafford before Rashford and Young sealed the win in the re-arranged clash at Old Trafford

Manchester United ended their disappointing Premier League campaign on something of a high in front of a two-thirds full Old Trafford.

The result in the game postponed from Sunday because of the security alert confirmed United have missed out on a Champions League place to Manchester City on goal difference.

They have qualified automatically for the Europa League ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final by finishing fifth, but that will be of little consolation.

This game summed up United at home this season and it was dreadful until Anthony Martial set up Rooney to score his 15th of the campaign just before half-time.

United improved in the second half and Michael Carrick hit the bar before Marcus Rashford bagged his eighth of his impressive debut campaign and Ashley Young netted at the death. A Chris Smalling own goal acted as a consolation for the Cherries.
