NIGERIAN MILITARY ARRESTS BOKO HARAM KINGPIN





Nigerian Military Forces says it has arrested an officer of the Nigeria Immigration service, Ahmed Muhammed Grema,  who is on the wanted terrorists list as a top member of Boko Haram in, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Spokesman of the Joint Task Force(JTF)  Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa confirmed the incident  in a statement today.       Musa said  the ex-immigration officer confessed being involved in most of the high profile killings and attacks credited to the Boko Haram sect.
“Ahmed Muhammed Grema, an officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service and an attache to ECOWAS office in Yobe state  was arrested enroute Maiduguri at a Checkpoint by the JTF troops while impersonating a Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army.” Musa said.
The Spokesman added that” Preliminary investigations showed that he was on the wanted terrorists list and has been an active member of Boko Haram terrorists organization long before 2009.  “

“At the time of his arrest, Ahmed Grema was on his way to Maiduguri on a mission to kill a former Special Adviser to the immediate Governor of Borno state. He also confessed to have actively involved in the killings of some senior civil servants, security agents and and politicians who spoke against the activities of Boko Haram particularly the Damboa Council chairman, Late Lawal Kawu. He also took part in the attacks on the old Police Headquarters in Damaturu where policemen were killed and large quantity of arms carted away.”
” He also confessed to be among those that attacked Damaturu prison, burnt primary schools, the state CID office and police safety office among others.
“He revealed that he and 15 other top members of Boko Haram were intensively trained for 3 months on G3 and AK47 rifles as well as assassination and special operations in Niger Republic.
He also revealed names of some Nigerian security personnel  that have participated in terrorists attacks in Borno and Yobe states, most of whom have been arrested while our security agencies are on the trail of others” Musa said
Lieutenant Colonel Musa said the arrest of Grema is huge breakthrough for the JTF as he has been giving vital information about activities of the Boko Haram sect.
