Today
marks another celebration of ‘’Democracy Day’’, that is, the demonstration of
the so called craziness by the power brokers who have nothing palatable to
offer the masses and the nation as a whole.
Can
you imagine, the gift for the celebration of Democracy day was the renaming of
the existing University in Lagos (Unilag) to Moshood Abiola University,Lagos. Is this not a deceit and distraction from what should be done? What can we use
as a yardstick for the so called celebration of Democracy Day? What have the so
called leaders and elected members of the ruling class offer the Nation since
they were elected?

The
Benchmark of the presidential speech was that ‘The University of Lagos, Unilag
has been changed to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos. In his speech he stated
that: The Federal Government has decided that late Chief MKO Abiola should be
honoured. In honour of Chief MKO Abiola, the University of Lagos is renamed the
Moshood Abiola University.”
I
think some people are better off in a class than being at the corridor of
power. Sometimes people loses focus of what is regarded as ‘High Priority’ and
run after flimsy and unnecessary things that have no impact on the well being
of the people and the nation.
Using
a martyr to compensate for one’s incompetence..........is a means of telling us
that he has nothing to offer the nation
