For a man to bring a change to the form of government existing in a Nation is either he is generally accepted by his people or the people actually want the change. With about 52% of the total votes in France, Francois Hollande defeated Nicolas Sarkozy to claim victory in the just concluded 2012 France election.

first round of the France presidential election took place on 22 April 2012
with Hollande and Sarkozy being selected for the second round based on the collection
of signatures of at least five hundred elected representatives among a total of
a more than 47, 000.

Hollande winning strategies could simply be attributed to the present France's economic woes. He promised to increase the taxes of big corporations and rich people while considering increasing the minimum wages of government workers.
