Explosions Rock Istanbul Airport

ISTANBUL — Explosions rocked Turkey's largest airport Tuesday night, killing at least three dozen people and wounding scores more in what appeared to be a coordinated terror attack, officials said.

The gunmen opened fire around 10:30 p.m. local time (3:30 p.m. ET) at the entrance of the international arrivals area at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, where detonated explosives sent people running for their lives, witnesses and officials said.

The number of dead and injured fluctuated steadily overnight amid the confusion, and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on television that at least 36 people were killed.

The Turkish Red Crescent counted "over a hundred" injured.

"I'm sorry it will have to end this way but these things happen," Hodgson said.

"I hope you will still be able to see an England team in a final of a major tournament soon.

Women Are More Interested In Sex Than You Think

Rarely are researchers’ findings so satisfying. Women may want more sex than their husbands or partners think.

New research by psychologists at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, published earlier this month in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, found that men in long-term relationships often underestimate how often their wives or girlfriends want to be intimate.

The research consists of three studies, following a total of 229 long-term couples, most of whom are heterosexual. (The sample of homosexual couples was too small to be statistically significant, the researchers say.) Participants ranged in age from 18 to 68 years old; the couples had been together six years on average, and they reported they had sex an average of one to two times a week.

In study one, 44 couples kept a diary for three weeks: Partners reported on their own level of sexual desire each day, as well as their perception of their partner’s level of desire and their level of relationship satisfaction. In study two, 84 couples came into the laboratory once and reported on the general levels of their desire, their perception of their partner’s desire and their happiness in the relationship. And in study three, 101 couples kept a diary for three weeks, reporting on the same three issues. They were also asked to report how motivated they were each day to avoid sexual rejection.

EURO 2016: ITALY vs SWEDEN - 1-0

Eder scored another late, late goal to send Italy through to the knockout stages after only two games and confirm Antonio Conte's team as one of the favourites to win Euro 2016. It was heartbreak for Sweden, whose future is hanging by a thread with only one point from two games, and Zlatan Ibrahmovic missed a chance to become the first man to score in four successive tournaments. The big Swede missed with a couple of headers and then put the ball over from a yard out, although he was offside on that occasion.

Trump Needs Psychological Help -Richard Wolffe

Donald Trump needs help. Not just help with all those pesky policy details that he can’t seem to master; not even help with a coherent political strategy for winning in November. He needs psychological help and he needs it now.

His unhinged reaction to the Orlando mass murders sends a clear message to his party and to voters in general: this presidential thing isn’t working out well for him or the nation.

At first, it was all too easy to dismiss his histrionics. His conspiracy theories about President Obama’s birth certificate were just a desperate cry for attention: an appeal to the fringes that made him the butt of all jokes.

ORLANDO MASS MURDERER ON FBI'S RADAR FOR YEARS

Omar Mateen -- the self-proclaimed ISIS follower who slaughtered 50 people at an Orlando gay nightclub -- was well known to the FBI, which just admitted he's been a terror suspect on and off since 2013.

FBI official Ronald Hopper just said in 2013 Mateen made, "inflammatory comments to coworkers," -- presumably terrorism related -- which caused the FBI to investigate and interview him ... not once, but twice.

The FBI closed the investigation because they could not connect him to a specific terrorist threat.

Thierry Henry Says France's Dimitri Payet Was 'HURT'

Dimitri Payet's stunning late winner against Romania in the opening game of Euro 2016 was redemption for the "hurt" he has endured in his France career, says Thierry Henry.

The Euro 2016 hosts were set for a draw against Romania when West Ham player Payet's sublime finish earned victory in the tournament's opening game.

"Tonight you saw a man who was hurt," former France and Arsenal striker Henry told BBC Radio 5 live.
"He showed tremendous desire."

Payet provided the cross for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud to head France ahead before hitting a 30-yard finish after Bogdan Stancu had equalised from the penalty spot for Romania.

TEEN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER SECRET VIDEO IS SHARED

Florida teen Tovonna Holton took her own life after a nude video of her was shared without her permission on Snapchat. (Photo: Facebook)

A family in Tampa expected to be celebrating the completion of 15-year-old Tovonna Holton’s freshman year at Wiregrass Ranch High School, but instead they’re preparing her funeral — and it’s all because of cyberbullying.

The teen used her mother’s handgun to take her own life this past Sunday after finding out that friends had allegedly filmed her taking a shower and posted it to Snapchat without her permission, according a report by Tampa news channel WFLA. “I said, ‘My baby! My baby!’” a visibly distraught Levon Holton-Teamer, Holton’s mother, recalled through tears in a video for WFLA. “I couldn’t get in the bathroom … so I tried to get in, and I look down. I seen a puddle of blood.” Holton-Teamer told the station that she tried to save her daughter by applying pressure to her head before dialing 911.

South Africa Set New Visa Regulation For Nigeria

The South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, has reported his administration’s choice to initiate the issuance of 5-year visas to Nigerian experts, businessmen and other regular fliers.

Munguni said his administration was currently arranged to wipe out the troubles typically confronted by Nigerians when looking for South African visas.
The diplomat also said his government was moving away from having political diplomacy to more of economic diplomacy with Nigeria.

“There has been growing concerns from both Nigeria and South Africa on the issue of visas. There have been complaints by Nigerians on how they are treated when seeking visas,” he said.

Clinton leads Trump By 11 points In White House Race

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 11 points in the U.S. presidential race, showing little change after she became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee this week, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.

The online poll, conducted from Monday to Friday, shows 46 percent of likely voters support Clinton while 34.8 percent back Trump. Another 19.2 percent support neither candidate. Their parties hold conventions in July ahead of a Nov. 8 election.

Clinton's lead was nearly the same a week ago, before she had amassed enough convention delegates to win the nomination and before Trump drew criticism from leaders of both parties for questioning the impartiality of a Mexican-American judge.

Trump, 69, enjoyed a bigger boost after becoming the presumptive Republican nominee in May. Having trailed Clinton, 68, for most of the year, Trump briefly erased a double-digit gap and pulled about even with the former secretary of state.

Golden State Warriors Defeat Cleveland Cavaliers

After all the talk about “What is Wrong With Steph Curry,” it felt almost inevitable that he would have his best game of the Finals. Curry racked up 38 points, plus 6 assists and 5 rebounds. When Curry is playing like this, the Warriors are very difficult to beat, although the Cavaliers should be credited for staying in this game as long as they did. Needless to say, Cleveland have a very tall task ahead of them, and zero margin of error, if they want to come back and win this series now.

We’ll be covering the NBA Finals here at the Guardian for however long it lasts. This will, however, end today’s live coverage of Game 4. Thanks to everybody who followed along with us today, especially those who contributed. Ciao!

“LIFE IS BEST WHEN YOU BUILD BRIDGES BETWEEN PEOPLE, NOT WALLS.” - Billy Crystal

“LIFE IS BEST WHEN YOU BUILD BRIDGES BETWEEN PEOPLE, NOT WALLS.”

Popular American comedian, Billy Crystal paid tribute to his friend Muhammad Ali at The Champ’s memorial service on Friday, but he may have also sneaked in a subtle dig at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

At the end of his eulogy, Crystal said Ali “taught us that life is best when you build bridges between people, not walls.”

That sounds quite a bit like a line from Hillary Clinton’s victory speech on Tuesday, in which she said, “We believe that cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls.”

Of course, Trump has famously promised to build a wall on the border between the United States and Mexico should he get elected in November. The real estate mogul-turned-politician has also called for a “total and complete shutdown” of Muslims entering the U.S.

JOHNNY DEPP IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY FOR AMBER

Amber Heard claims money is NOT the driving force behind her bid to get a restraining order against Johnny Depp, but sources connected with Johnny say she's full of it, pointing to a letter her own lawyer filed with the court ... Amber, however, says the letter isn't a money grab.

Amber's lawyer sent a letter to Jake Bloom, Johnny's entertainment lawyer, on May 24, 2016 ... just 3 days after the alleged iPhone attack, and 3 days before Amber made her explosive domestic violence claims.

In the letter Amber's lawyer tells Bloom, "Amber wishes to work quickly towards a private and amicable resolution of all matters, but she will need Johnny's immediate cooperation to do so." Amber's attorney also claims she wants to "work out solutions outside of the public eye."

Sanders Pledges To Work With Clinton To Defeat Trump

To achieve greater happiness at work, you don’t need your boss to stop calling you at night. You don’t need to make more money. You don’t need to follow your dream of being a sommelier, or running a B&B in Vermont. So says Srikumar Rao, the author of Happiness at Work. The biggest obstacle to happiness is simply your belief that you’re the prisoner of circumstance, powerless before the things that happen to you, he says. “We create our own experience,” he adds. Here are 11 steps to happiness at work, drawn from his recommendations.

(CNN)Bernie Sanders on Thursday emerged from a White House meeting with President Barack Obama and vowed to work together with Hillary Clinton to defeat Donald Trump in November.

Buhari Didn’t Go To London For Treatment – Adesina

The Presidency on Tuesday insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari did not breach any Nigerian law by traveling to London for his vacation, during which he would also see E.N.T specialists for a persistent ear infection.
The Presidency said Mr. Buhari was treated by Nigerian medical experts in the country before he was advised to seek foreign medical treatment.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who stated this yesterday, was reacting to insinuations in the public domain that by traveling abroad, Mr. Buhari violated an existing directive by the Federal Government that says government will no longer bear the cost of treatment for officials abroad if their condition can be treated in Nigeria.

Private Sector Has Most Capital To Drive Economy, Says Elumelu

As the stakeholders’ forum on “Realising the full potentials of the Nigerian economy through proactive capital market legislation” continues to attract interest, the Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu, yesterday assured that the private sector is capable of providing the most capital needed to drive the economy.

According to Elumelu: “The private sector has the most capital to drive the economy and must take over the role that the government has wrongly assumed over years.”

Elumelu, who presented a keynote paper on “Deepening the capital market to include privatised and systematically important entities” in one of the technical session said for this to happen, the government must focus on its proper role in creating, improving and strengthening the enabling environment for business in the country.

Breaking News: Stephen Keshi: Nigeria Football Legend Dies Aged 54

Adieu Keshi

One of African football's best-known figures, Stephen Keshi, has died at the age of 54, the Nigeria Football Association has said.

A former captain of the Nigeria national team, Keshi was one of only two men to win the Africa Cup of Nations both as a player and a coach.

He also managed Togo and Mali, and his playing career included a spell for Belgian club side Anderlecht.

He is thought to have suffered a heart attack, local media reported.

As a player, Keshi was part of the Super Eagles team that won the Nations Cup in 1994 and narrowly missed out on a World Cup quarter-final place the same year.

He coached the national side over three spells, leading Nigeria to the 2013 Nations Cup title in South Africa and the last 16 at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Hillary Clinton Gets Her Historic Nomination

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Monday night with timely help from Democratic Party insiders, shattering a glass ceiling to become the first woman in American history to top a major party ticket.

“This is an important milestone,” said Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in a statement.

The campaign of Bernie Sanders did not concede and the Vermont senator signaled his intention to continue contesting the nomination. But it is now a virtual certainty that Clinton will face presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in November — another historic candidate because of his nonpolitical background. The contest is shaping up to be one of the nastiest campaigns in a generation.

Clinton reached the 2,383-delegate figure needed to be the Democratic nominee after winning contests in both Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands over the weekend and after previously undeclared “superdelegates’’ — party officials who are not bound by voting in individual states and territories — told the Associated Press for the first time Monday that they’d back Clinton.

Her tally includes the 1,812 pledged delegates she won in primaries and caucuses along with the support of 571 superdelegates, according to an AP count.

“Buhari Is Investigating Me For Corruption” – Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan says his predecessor is probing him for alleged graft.
Jonathan, who is currently in London, made the comments during an interview with Bloomberg on Monday.
Jonathan was asked: “Are you worried that you would come under investigation for corruption?”
“No…of course obviously I would be investigated and I’m being investigated,” Jonathan replied.
When asked if Buhari and his anti-graft boys would find anything indicting, Jonathan hesitated and then said he wouldn’t want to make any comments at the moment.
“When a government is working, it’s not proper for the immediate past president to make certain statements,” Jonathan said.
“I will allow the government to do the work they are supposed to do. I wouldn’t want to make serious comments on that…definitely not…it’s not proper.
“After all the investigations, the whole story will be proper chronicled,” he said.

Trump Is A Fraudster-in-Chief - Elizabeth Warren

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will tear into Donald Trump on Saturday, taking the presumptive GOP presidential nominee to task over revelations about his now-defunct Trump University, according to Politico.

"It was like a used car dealership - except that's not fair to used car dealerships," Warren is slated to say, according to a draft of her remarks to the Massachusetts Democratic convention. "His playbook said to look for people with problems; they make good targets.

"These were ordinary folks who were targeted because they had problems and Trump saw they were vulnerable and he could make a buck," Warren added.

Muhammad Ali Dies At 74

Muhammad Ali, the charismatic three-time heavyweight boxing champion of the world and Olympic gold medalist who transcended the world of sports to become a symbol of the antiwar movement of the 1960s and ultimately a global ambassador for cross-cultural understanding, died Friday night at a hospital in Phoenix, where he was living. He was 74.
The Associated Press and other news outlets confirmed the death. The boxer had been hospitalized with respiratory problems related to Parkinson’s disease, which had been diagnosed in the 1980s.
Mr. Ali dominated boxing in the 1960s and 1970s and held the heavyweight title three times. His fights were among the most memorable and spectacular in history, but he quickly became at least as well known for his colorful personality, his showy antics in the ring and his standing as the country’s most visible member of the Nation of Islam.

CLINTON TAKES ON TRUMP: HER 34 TOUGHEST LINES

New York (CNN) — Hillary Clinton on Thursday blitzed presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump with a barrage of pointed and sarcastic attacks, casting him as dangerous with a petulant streak that could threaten U.S. national and global security.

Here are 34 of her most fiery charges:

1. "Donald Trump's ideas aren't just different -- they are dangerously incoherent. They're not even really ideas, just a series of bizarre rants, personal feuds and outright lies."

2. "He's not just unprepared -- he's temperamentally unfit to hold an office that requires knowledge, stability and immense responsibility."

3. "This is not someone who should ever have the nuclear codes because it's not hard to imagine Donald Trump leading us into a war just because somebody got under his very thin skin."

4. "We cannot put the safety of our children and grandchildren in Donald Trump's hands. We cannot let him roll the dice with America."

5. "He has no ideas on education. No ideas on innovation. He has lots of ideas about who to blame but no clue about what to do."

6. "This is a man who said that more countries should have nuclear weapons, including Saudi Arabia."
