'Lured to her death by
her mother and sister': Relatives of British honour killing victim 'told her
her father was dying to convince her to go to Pakistan where she was raped and
murdered'
Samia Shahid, 28, from
Bradford, was allegedly the victim of a 'devious plan' by her family who wanted
her dead because she left the cousin she was forced to marry.
Police in
Pakistan have accused her father Mohammad Shahid and first husband Mohammad
Shakeel (together right outside court today) of murder and prosecutors want the
death penalty if they are convicted. But a final report on her death shows that
Samia's mother Imtiaz and sister Madiha are accused of 'abetting the murder'.
Madiha allegedly called her older sister every day for 15 days while 'crying'
to say that their father, who has diabetes, was perilously ill in hospital.
Samia's mother Imtiaz also 'emotionally blackmailed her daughter to plan her
fatal trip to Pakistan'. Samia texted a friend at the time: 'Mybsis (baby
sister) called me cryin'. She added: Pray i come bk alive on 21july'. Mother
and sister, who later fled, then convinced her to come to Pakistan from Dubai,
where she lived with second husband Syed Mukhtar Kazim (main picture on their
wedding day in 2014). The 28-year-old landed on July 15 but five days later she
was brutally raped and murdered (inset).
