HARD TIMES UNDER BUHARI NOT A SURPRISE. By Yusuf Idris Amoke.

No light, no water, no fuel, no food, no no no is the chorus sang all over the country at present. No doubt that times are really hard, but every man who sees beyond his nose can see a silver lining in the cloudy future.

The hope that keeps a pregnant woman going, is knowing for sure that the pains will be over after a period of time. This hope is what keeps her alive, strong and up and doing.

After more than 50 years as an independent nation, 3 republics past and 16 years wasted in an uninterrupted democracy, Nigerians for the first time elected a leader that didn't emerge by chance- but by a conscious attempt to being the president of the country. According to history, no Nigerian leader had emerged from a conscious preparation to being a president except President Buhari.

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa the first and only prime minister of Nigeria never dreamt or prepared to lead Nigeria when he did, it was a chance provided by the great Sir Ahmadu Bello the Sardauna of Sokoto who had every chance to become the prime minister but rejected, and sent his deputy at party level to fill in that space.

New DNA Technology Helps Free Man Wrongly Imprisoned 25 Years

As he put 25 years of prison time served for a crime he didn't commit, Monday marked the first day in the rest of Darryl Pinkins' life.

The 63-year-old Indiana father walked out of Lake County jail after spending just a month shy of a quarter-century behind bars after he was convicted in 1991 for what prosecutors said was his participation in a horrific 1989 gang rape.

After years of unflinchingly maintaining his innocence, Pinkins was set free thanks to one of the newest innovations in DNA analysis.

The technology is so new, in fact, that Pinkins is the first inmate ever set free with its help.

"It feels like this day was - was meant to be. And I know it was," Pinkins told reporters outside the jail after friends and family greeted him in a tearful reunion. "This is a new beginning."

One of the emotional family members waiting for Pinkins was his son, who hadn't even been born.

Coalition Air Strikes Kill 25,000 Jihadis

More than 25,000 members of the Islamic State terror group have been killed in the relentless war fought by Britain and its allies, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.
The campaign has halved the number of jihadi fighters in IS-controlled areas of Syria and Iraq in just 20 months and eliminated scores of the group's leaders, with bombing raids and missile strikes by the RAF playing a crucial role.
The revelations of how IS has been dealt a series of devastating blows emerged in an exclusive interview with Colonel Steve Warren, the US military spokesman for the US-led global coalition against Islamic State.

Col Warren revealed:
The terror group's ability to make millions of dollars every day selling oil on the black market and pay its army of jihadis has been vastly reduced by repeated air attacks on IS-held oilfields;
Coalition forces are preparing to mount a final assault on their stronghold of Raqqa in Syria;
The remains of Jihadi John were 'like a greasy spot on the ground', according to the first eyewitness account of the drone strike that killed the British executioner.

Manchester United Set To Axe Louis van Gaal

Manchester United will ditch Louis van Gaal this summer - even if he leads them to FA Cup glory.

Winning the FA Cup will not be enough to save Van Gaal, as United are preparing an exit strategy for him and a succession plan involving Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils' progress to the semi-finals, and the prospect of their first trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired almost three years ago, has not altered the thinking among the Old Trafford hierarchy that a change is now required this summer.

And the prospect of missing out on Champions League qualification for the second time in three years (with six games to go United are fifth, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and with a far inferior goal difference), as well as the fact Van Gaal will be entering the final year of his contract, has strengthened the belief that this close-season is the right time to make that change.

The French international has split with his childhood sweetheart according to reports, with Samantha taking to Instagram this week

It has been claimed French international striker Anthony, 20, has split with blonde childhood sweetheart Samantha, 19.

Last week Samantha stopped following the £58million striker on Instagram, and he stopped following her on social media too.

Samantha has deleted all of the pictures of herself with Anthony on her personal Instagram account, but photos of the couple's baby daughter Peyton remain.

Kobe Caps Career On A Thrilling Note

Kobe Bryant's 20th and final NBA season came to a close on Wednesday night. He finished it exactly as he spent most of it: remorselessly and gleefully gunning.

And everybody loved it, because it was perfect. It couldn't have been more perfect.

In his last game as a professional basketball player, Bryant fully embraced the Viking funeral that began when he announced on Nov. 29, 2015, that this would be his last ride. With Los Angeles Lakers fans, NBA legends, former teammates, Hollywood royalty, his wife and his children watching his every move, Kobe entertained us all one more time with a performance that seemed, even as it was unfolding, like the stuff of fiction.
Shaquille O'Neal wasn't kidding. He really did call for 50 during an "Inside the NBA" chat last month. Back then, Kobe said no. On Wednesday, he changed his mind.

What Do Women Want Men To Do In Bed?

1- Think like a “knob,” not a “switch”

When comparing male and female sexuality, there’s no shortage of adages: “Men are like light switches — just flip them on, and they’re ready to go. Women are like knobs — you can turn them up and down.” Or as Dr. Emily Nagoski writes in the Good in Bed Guide to Female Orgasms, “Men are like driving standard transmission — if you move through the gears in the right order, you will get where you want to go. Women are like baking a soufflé — the outcome depends on the ingredients and the chef, sure, but it also depends on the reliability of the oven, the altitude, the humidity of the day… more variables, more variability.” In short, think of foreplay as a 24-hour experience that happens both in and out of the bedroom. Sex is all about context. And while it may take very little to rev your engine, remember that she probably needs to simmer.

2- When you’re getting it on, make sure she’s completely relaxed and comfortable

Researchers in the Netherlands have found that the key to getting a woman turned on and to the heights of orgasmic bliss is a deep sense of relaxation and a lack of anxiety. Brain scans showed that the parts of women’s brains responsible for processing fear, anxiety and emotion slowed down the more aroused they became, producing a trancelike state at orgasm. Men showed far less change in these regions. “What this means is that deactivation, letting go of all fear and anxiety, might be the most important thing, even necessary, to have an orgasm,” says the study’s lead researcher, Dr. Gert Holstege.

Donald Trump “The Unforgiving Servant”

Few biblical characters get more scorn than “The Unforgiving Servant,” who asks for help from superior, but denies it to a lower-ranked servant. Donald Trump may be doing the same thing, complaining how Republican leaders are trying to oust him from the election, just as he uses the exact same tactics to remove John Kasich from the race.

Maybe you’re familiar with Jesus’ tale of “the Unforgiving Servant.” In the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 18, Verses 21 to 35, we learn that a servant owes his master a great fortune. He begs for forgiveness for his debt, and receives it. But then this servant meets a co-worker, who owes a small debt. The co-worker pleads for a little time to pay it back, but the mean servant tosses him in debtor’s prison, making the cruel servant “the unforgiving one.”

That biblical tale came to mind when I recently received an email from Donald Trump’s campaign. His team crowed loudly about how the Republican establishment is trying to use every trick in the book to deny their candidate the nomination.

KHLOE KARDASHIAN I CAN'T FIX LAMAR ... So I'm Done

Khloe Kardashian sounds like she has undergone two years of therapy ... she is throwing in the towel in her relationship with Lamar Odom, realizing she can not save someone who does not want to be helped.

Khloe just posted an emotional, thoughtful manifesto on her failed efforts to help a husband mired in problems. She wrote, "We have to learn to stop taking on peoples problems as if they are our own. Loving people does not mean we have to carry their burdens and confusions on our back."
Khloe clearly realizes she can not be Lamar's savior and in fact even attempting that courts disaster. She says, "You forcing your beliefs and dreams down ones throat is only going to cause resentment and possibly manifest deeper issues. Possibly to the point of no return."

Lucca, Hero Marine Dog Who Lost Her Leg In Afghanistan, Awarded Top Honor For Valor

She’s the first American canine to receive the prestigious Dickin Medal.
In 2012, Lucca, a bomb-sniffing U.S. Marine Corps dog, lost her front leg in a roadside IED blast while on duty in Afghanistan. The hero canine had already served in the military for over six years, successfully completing more than 400 missions and protecting the lives of thousands of allied troops in areas of conflict in the Middle East.

There reportedly wasn’t a single human casualty during any of her patrols.

“She is the only reason I made it home to my family and I am fortunate to have served with her,” said Gunnery Sgt. Chris Willingham, who now cares for Lucca. “In addition to her incredible detection capabilities, Lucca was instrumental in increasing morale for the troops we supported.”

This week, Lucca was recognized for her years of service and heroism.

On Tuesday, the 12-year-old German shepherd received the prestigious Dickin Medal — described as the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross — which is the highest military decoration awarded for valor in the U.K.
The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), a British charity that’s been awarding the PDSA Dickin Medal since 1943, said it is the highest honor that any animal in the world can achieve for military service. Lucca was the first American dog to receive the medal.

Obama, who also said Clinton “would never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy”, was speaking in a pre-recorded interview with Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, his first with the conservative-slanted channel since January 2014.

LEWIS HAMILTON TAKES POLE AT BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX

A thrilling late charge by Lewis Hamilton rather disguised another underwhelming outing for Formula One’s new qualifying system for Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

Hamilton pieced together the fastest lap ever run here to win his 51st pole after a mistake on the final lap of his first run had left him in fourth place; behind him on the grid will be Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg and then the red cars of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.

The dazzling lights that illuminated the Sakhir Circuit were needed to keep everyone awake for much of the time. Formula One has not so much shot itself in the foot as blasted both its legs off with this latest piece of rule changing, which was unanimously condemned when it made its debut in Australia last month but lives on to fight another Sunday and could still be around when the circus moves to China later in the month.
