Manchester United Players Don’t Agree With Jose Mourinho Over This – Report

Manchester United  players believe Wayne Rooney should be given the chance to assert his place back in the starting XI.
The club captain has found himself out of Jose Mourinho’s first-team in recent weeks after a dip in form.

The same has happened with England after Gareth Southgate dropped Wayne Rooney to the bench for their latest World Cup qualifiers.

Mourinho has deployed Rooney in midfield of late with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford leading the line.

But according to the Daily Mail, several United players want Rooney to play in the No.9 role and believe he deserves another opportunity to impress.

Rooney has missed the last two games through injury, but when he returns to full fitness, his team-mates want him back in the starting line-up and playing further forward.

With Rooney out of favour at Old Trafford, recent reports suggest the 31-year-old is attracting interest from clubs around the world.

Jose Mourinho has deployed Wayne Rooney as a midfielder this season

Inter Milan and and Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning are thought to be keen on him, while MLS outfit LA Galaxy have reportedly made enquiries over how much Rooney would cost.

Rooney is under contract with the Red Devils until 2019, and is just four goals shy of eclipsing Sir Bobby Charlton’s club record of 249 goals.
